Reuse solutions for cafes - Masterclass
About this event
Many single-use plastics are often only used for a few minutes and then thrown away. These items can end up polluting our environment, harming wildlife and contaminating our food and water. Reducing plastic pollution is a key pillar of Victoria’s Circular Economy Plan, Recycling Victoria: A new economy.
Sustainability Victoria is supporting businesses to reduce single-use items and where feasible implement reusable solutions.
What's covered?
We love our coffee, but Victorians consume over one million single-use coffee cups each year; these items cannot be recycled and are destined for landfill. The purpose of this masterclass is to inform cafes, restaurants and takeaway food businesses on the different models available to reduce or replace single-use coffee cups.
Join this free online masterclass to hear how Green Caffeen, Skip Zero, Huskee, Cercle and One Good Cup are providing reuse solutions for coffee and tea drinkers on the move.
Each business will provide an overview of:
- What their reuse system is and how it works
- Examples of the system in action
- Benefits to businesses and their customers
This masterclass is for businesses interested in reducing single-use coffee cups or that support businesses with circular solutions, such as local governments, trader associations, building or centre managers.
Sustainability Victoria, will provide details on our next Circular Economy Reuse Pilots Fund. This program supports businesses to implement avoidance and reuse solutions with a focus on takeaway coffee cups and food containers.
