Bass Coast Shire Council are excited to partner with Bass Coast Adult Learning (BCAL) and Mycelia Energy Collective, as well as community gardens and neighbourhood houses across the region to deliver Living Lightly workshops. This initiative includes a series of workshops aimed to help the community live more sustainably. The workshops will be in-person at various locations across the shire, and will cover topics such as energy, food, gardening and circular economy. All workshops are free to attend and will be presented by experts that will focus on making your home and community more sustainable and resilient.
Discover how to grow abundant, low maintenance food systems with food forests and dwarf orchards.
This workshop explores how to design layered, productive spaces using a mix of fruit trees, shrubs, herbs, and groundcovers that work together to support soil health, biodiversity, and ongoing harvests. Learn the basics of food forest principles, plant selection, and how dwarf fruit trees can be used to maximise yield in smaller spaces.
