Living Lightly - Zero Waste Cooking Workshop

Discover practical and creative ways to make the most of the food you buy, reduce food waste and get more from everyday ingredients.

In this workshop, we’ll explore simple ways to use more of what we already have in the kitchen. From making the most of leftovers and odds and ends to finding new uses for ingredients that might otherwise be forgotten or thrown away.

We’ll look at meal planning, smart storage and flexible cooking ideas that can help food last longer and make it easier to use what’s on hand. We’ll also explore creative ways to give leftovers a second life and make better use of commonly discarded parts of fruits, vegetables and other ingredients where appropriate.

Along the way, we’ll talk about understanding food dates, avoiding unnecessary waste and developing simple habits that can save both food and money without making cooking more complicated.

Whether you’re looking to stretch the weekly food budget, clear out the fridge more effectively or simply waste a little less, this session is full of achievable ideas that can be adapted to your own household and cooking style.

This workshop is part of the Living Lightly series, delivered by Harriet Pellizzer in partnership with Bass Coast Shire Council.

Registration is essential so we can keep in contact if there are any changes and ensure adequate materials for participants.
