Bass Coast Shire Council is thrilled to announce the launch of its 2024 productive gardening workshop series, "Garden Gems". This exciting initiative aims to foster a culture of sustainability, health, and community connection through the joy of gardening.

The workshops will be hosted across Bass Coast's eight community gardens, offering residents an opportunity to learn essential gardening skills while nurturing a deeper connection to their local environment. With a strong emphasis on sustainable practices, the program will empower participants to cultivate their own food, contributing to healthier lifestyles and a more resilient community.

Workshops will run for approximately 90-minutes, and be delivered by qualified facilitators from Bass Coast Adult Learning (BCAL). BCAL is a Wonthaggi-based registered training organisation, providing education and training to people in Bass Coast. BCAL delivers a range of programs, including courses on horticulture and sustainability. BCAL also host the annual Bass Coast Edible Gardens Weekend.
